In groups, the student’s will choose their favorite shark from the book and then create a movie trailer introducing the shark to the rest of the class. The student’s would then complete a few different puzzles in class.Ģ. Sharkabet author fin artist Ray Troll is in Albuquerque installing the Buzz Saw Sharks of Long Ago exhibit opening Saturday at the Museum. I would then laminate each student’s picture and cut it into puzzle pieces.

Otherwise the student’s would need to be 5th grade or older to read it alone, because the vocabulary used in the book is too complex for a beginning reader.ġ.I would have student’s pick their favorite shark from the book and then draw a picture of it. My four year old and two year old had a blast walking about the display to point out letters.

I think that this book would be appropriate for grades 2-4 if it were read by an adult to the student’s. The Sharkabet exhibit is a great resource for children learning letter recognition. The book offers some fun features such as, a shark family tree, amazing shark facts, and pages full of specific information about each type of shark at the back of the book. At first, I thought that the names of some of the sharks were made up, but after researching the shark names on the internet I found that all of the sharks in the book are real, Some of the sharks are extinct so that is why they are not widely known names. Appears donations, cost of admittance going in to pockets of management.Sharkabet is an ABC book that identifies a different shark for every letter of the alphabet. Total waste of money.dirty, unkempt, lacking updated exhibits, dirty, dirty restrooms. Shamefull considering how well maintained the art museum and zoo are. I WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone and would never take children there due to the potential dangers as a result of the lack of attention to day to day upkeep. Parking was 8.00 for 2.5 hours, very outrageous. The grounds were unkempt and overcome with weeds as well.

The walkways in the outside areas were in ill repair, very unsafe. They had open sores and the surrounding vegetation was overcome by weeds. The animals outside were uncared for, with dirty living areas. There were no docents or anyone around to answer questions and the staff that you saw only when you entered were rude and unhelpful. The exhibits have not been kept up, the cards in the cases with the verbiage addressing the exhibits were so faded you could not read them. Unfotunately, we found the museum in disrepair and dirty.
